Vacation Care/OSHC Groups:

Platform 1 Heritage Farm Railway is the perfect day out for groups particularly primary school age children. Enjoy a train ride through the farmyard and out into the open paddock. Play on the hands-on railway displays. Turn lights on and off, make the signal go up and down. Feed our friendly farm animals, meet Bill the horse and Ruby the pig. Play old-fashioned outdoor games.

We have a lovely acorn tree picnic area that you can use to have your recess/lunch and tea/coffee is provided to adults with our compliments.

Each school holidays we provide a different school holiday activity. These activities are determined by the season, availablity of equipment and other factors. As a general rule, the July and October school holiday activity is marshmallow cooking over an open fire, the summer school holidays are water based games, the April holidays are outdoor games such as egg & spoon races, sack races and other favourites.

Glenn and Karen are only too happy to arrange a visit for you that will fit into your time frame.

Your visit includes:

  • Train ride through the farmyard and out into the open paddock, past the cows, sheep and other farm animals.
  • Play in the "Train Shed". This shed has railway memorabilia displayed so it is "hands-on". Play on the train cabs, dress up as train drivers or play the big "trains & tunnels" board game.
  • Interact with the farm animals. Learn a little about each animal and then feed them. Meet "Bill" the horse, "Ruby" the pig, "Miss Moo" the cow and many of our other animals. Carrots and grain provided.

  • Staff members from Platform 1 will help take you through the activities so you can enjoy the yourself too.
